Salha, is a film about the Bedouin girl Salha Hamadeen who won in 2012 the “Hans Christian Anderson International Prize” for her imaginative story “Hantoush.” “Hantoush” tells of how she wanted to escape her dismal and stark reality in Wadi Abu Hindi. She imagines that her young sheep, Hantoush, grows wings, and both of them fly to Madrid to meet Lionel Messi, the famous soccer player. Messi asks Salha to stay in Madrid, but according to her story, she refuses, for who will take care of the sheep and make cheese, the source of their livelihood, as her father is in prison.
