Abstract :	A Jane Campion Film Ada (Holly Hunter), her small daughter (Anna Paquin) and her piano arrive to an arranged marriage in the remote bush of New Zeland. When her husband (Samm Neill) refuses to transport the piano off the beach, she strikes a complex bargain with an illiterate neighbour (Harvey Keitel) that draws them all into a highly-charged love triangle. Director-writer Jane Campion's brooding period romance catapulted her to the top of the international film world, winning Best Film at Cannes in 1993 and a Best Sceenplay Oscar the following year. Academy awards also went to Holly Hunter and to young New Zeland first-timer Anna Paquin.
